Abandoning Israel — A Growing Trend

Over the past three years, many Israelis have obtained foreign passports,

packed up their belongings, their families, and their suitcases, and simply

left Israel for good. Official figures speak of around 286,000 Israelis who

have left the country, among them professionals and people with academic

degrees: doctors, lawyers, high-tech workers, business owners who shut down

their businesses and moved them abroad, pharmacists, teachers, kindergarten

teachers, caregivers, social workers, bankers, independent creators,

designers, artists, musicians, students who will continue their studies at

academic institutions abroad, and many other capable people.

In short, over the past three years, at least around 286,000 Israelis with

academic or post-secondary education, financial means, and professional

careers — educated, capable people and exemplary citizens — have chosen,

together with their families, to abandon the State of Israel and emigrate

abroad.

They are no longer interested in placing their hopes in one election or

another, or in Netanyahu's long-awaited "total victory." They have had enough,

and rightly so: enough of the Bibist poison machine, of religious coercion,

of Jewish fascism and the trampling of the rule of law, of incitement between

right and left, between religious and ultra-Orthodox Jews and secular Jews,

between Mizrahim and Ashkenazim. They have had enough of the extortion by the

ultra-Orthodox parties, religious coercion, intolerance, and the atmosphere of

destroying democratic values and human rights whose stench can be felt

everywhere and in every corner of the country.

They have had enough of the corruption infesting every part of this country,

of crime and criminal families having the upper hand. They have had enough of

the protection-racket mentality and of a government that looks after only

those who voted for it. They have had enough of the vulgarity and violence

that dominate the streets, cities, and towns. They have had enough of five

hundred days of reserve duty a year for Netanyahu's and his government's

endless wars. They have had enough of the occupation and the violence of

settlers against Palestinians with the backing of the IDF. They have had

enough of watching the IDF turn into "God's army." They have had enough of

the cruelty, indifference, ignorance, and lack of concern of Israelis. They

have had enough of all of it, and they are no longer willing to bury their

heads in the sand.

What has already begun as a stream or a trickle of Israelis leaving and

emigrating will, in the coming years, become a steady and powerful flow. There

is no hope and no remedy for the State of Israel in light of what Mr.

Netanyahu and his government have done to it. There is no hope and no remedy

for the dying Israeli democracy, and there is no hope and no remedy for the

proper functioning of the judicial system. Once it is destroyed, a wave of

legislation will begin aimed at restricting and eliminating civil and human

rights in the country, silencing voices, and limiting freedom of expression.

Israel is undergoing an accelerated process of "Iranization." In practice,

Israel has one twin state in the world: the Iran of the ayatollahs.

And who, exactly, will remain in the Israeli Spartan state? All those who

cannot leave: the disabled, the poor, the limited, the ignorant, the

uneducated, the illiterate, and the intellectually deficient — in short, the

screwed-up and the fanatics who will go and vote again and again, like a dog

returning to eat its own vomit, for Mr. Netanyahu, Likud, the right-wing bloc,

the ultra-Orthodox parties, and parties such as Otzma Yehudit and Religious

Zionism.

And if you add to this what is likely to come upon the State of Israel —

international isolation, sanctions, embargoes, and economic, academic, and

cultural boycotts — you can understand for yourselves why more and more

Israelis will decide to abandon the sinking ship called Israel.

לישראל יש מדינת תאום אחת בעולם והיא איראן של האייתולות

ומי יישאר בדיוק במדינת ספרטה הישראלית? - כול אלה שאינם יכולים לעזוב -

הנכים העניים המוגבלים הנבערים חסרי ההשכלה האנלפבתים והדפרים או בקיצור

הדפוקים והפאנטים שילכו ויבחרו שוב ושוב ככלב השב לאכול את הקיא שלו במר

נתניהו ובליכוד ובגוש הימין והמפלגות החרדיות ומפלגות כגון עוצמה יהודית

ואם תוסיפו לזה את שעתיד לבוא על מדינת ישראל - בידוד בינלאומי סנקציות
